Gerald Ernest Gerler was born on May 2, 1931 to Ernest and Paula (Braeuner) Gerler in Potter, Nebraska.

Gerald peacefully passed away surrounded by family at 4 am on January 9, 2020 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 88 years, 8 months and 7 days. Services are 11 a.m. today, Jan. 15, at St. John Lutheran Church, 919 N. Columbia Ave., Seward, NE. Interment with full military honors will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Seward.
