New Shop, New Focus

Eddys Open Outlaw Motorsports

Build your reputation right and customers will find you.

That is the experience of Nick Eddy and his new shop Outlaw Motorsports. Several years ago, Eddy had a business called “Nick’s Small Engine Repair.” After a time he got away from small engines, but never really left the mechanical way of viewing things. That just comes naturally, he and his wife Diadra say. He has had a wrench in his hand most of his life.

“I’ve been wrenching on motor sports since I was 12,” he says.

His newest venture, Outlaw Motorsports, started when he bought land for his own motorized toys and people heard he was back in town. Hanging his shingle, designed by his wife, has filled a gap.

“As far as I know, in town we’re the only ones in the area,” Eddy said.

“There’s evidently a need,” Diadra Eddy said.

The shop has been open since April.

“We officially opened April 20.”

The timing of the Eddys opening the shop lined up well, benefiting from the riders planning on their ride to Sturgis, S.D.

Eddy will work on most anything with a motor. He describes his focus as “Pretty much anything that goes vroom.”

“We kind of work on anything,” he says.

His shop is a collection of everything from a child-size dirt bike to a snowmobile and jet ski. They also do custom graphics and plan on entering Jeep customizations. They currently do custom vinyl graphics and apply bed liners.

Their focus is honest customer service. He recalls his former small engine business and telling a customer their machine can’t be fixed, or at least at a cost-effective price. He also knows what it’s like to be on the customer side of the counter, unsure if the technician is offering a fair service. They said it is nice to have a some with upfront service.

Outlaw Motorsports is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday by appointment. They can be reached at 308-249-0580.

Outlaw Motorsports is located at 1828 Grant St., Sidney.
