Lady Storm Drops Two in Early Going

September 9, 2020

Creek Valley’s Lady Storm Volleyball team faced the speedy Minatare Lady Indians at Chappell on Tuesday Sept. 3, and struggled to find their rhythm in the first set, losing 25-to-16 to start the match. The Lady Storm found their groove in the second set, battling hard and putting pressure on the Minatare defense, and came away with an extra points victory 28-to-26. The third set was a battle throughout, with both teams going on runs and Creek Valley hanging on, but the Lady Indians were able to capture the decisive final points, and won the set 25-to-23 for the 2-to-1 match victory.

The Lady Storm then traveled on Wednesday Sept. 4 to Paxton to face off against the Lady Tigers. This match was not as competitive as the Lady Storm fell in three straight sets 25-to-15, 25-to-19 and 25-to-16 for the 3-to-0 match loss against the tough Paxton squad. Creek Valley was scheduled for a home triangular against Morrill and Arthur County on Tuesday, looking for their first match win of the season.
