Warriors Stumble Against Mullen, 46-14

Leyton’s Warrior Football team lost it’s second game in a row, falling on the road 46-to-14 against conference rival Mullen Friday night. The loss drops Leyton to 5-and-2, with the losses coinciding with a rash of injuries, most notably the loss of junior standout running back Kole Bush, who was averaging nearly 100 yards rushing per game, for the season with a knee injury.

Junior quarterback Scout Gamble was intercepted three times and lost a fumble, and the Warriors’ offensive line gave up six sacks while the defense could not stop the Bronco’s rushing attack led by Joseph DeNaeyer’s 27 carries for 274 yards and two touchdowns.

The Warriors’ defense was led by senior Zack Henke and junior Brayden Haley, each with 13 total tackles. Henke also had a fine day punting, with four kicks averaging 46 yards, with two punts inside the 20 yard line. Leyton hosts the 5-and-2 Garden County Eagles Friday night in Dalton.
