Lady Coyotes, Lady Storm Struggle in MAC Tournament

Potter-Dix’s Lady Coyote Basketball team and Creek Valley’s Lady Storm Basketball team have both struggled for wins so far this season, and both teams suffered early exits in the MAC Tournament last week.

The number six seed Lady Coyotes traveled to Oshkosh to face the number three seed Garden County Lady Eagles on January 18 and were quickly overwhelmed by the Lady Eagles’ offense, trailing 32-to-8 at the half.

The Lady Coyotes could not gain any traction on offense, and fell by a final score of 50-to-25, ending their tournament play. Freshman Madison Williamson led the Lady coyotes with seven points in the loss, and Potter-Dix is next scheduled to be back in action on Saturday, traveling to Minatare to match up against the Lady Indians.

Creek Valley’s Lady Storm Basketball team entered the tournament as the number seven seed, and traveled to Bayard last Monday January 18 to match up with the Lady Tigers.

Bayard rang up a 45-to-7 first half, then shut down the Lady Storm’s offense in the second half to cruise to a 70-to-7 first round victory.

Sophomore Elizabeth Whiting led the Lady Storm with four points in the loss. The Lady Storm were next scheduled to host the Sutherland Lady Sailors on Tuesday.
