Potter-Dix, Leyton Compete at Morrill Early Bird Meet

The area’s Track & Field Teams are in full swing, and the Coyote and Warrior teams traveled to Morrill on Saturday to compete in the Early Bird Invitational.

The Leyton Boys’ Team took second place honors while the Potter-Dix Boys’ squad earned fourth place. The girl’s teams did not fare as well, with Potter-Dix placing twelfth and Leyton placing fourteenth overall.

 Medal winners for Leyton included Matthew Shepard with sixth place in the 100 meters, KJ Bush with a fifth place finish in the 400 meters, Scout Gamble and Kalb Borges placed third and fourth in the 110 Meter Hurdles. Gamble also placed third and Borges placed fifth in the 300 Meter Hurdles.

The team of KJ Bush, Mason Reimers, Dominick Russ and Matthew Shepard placed third in the 4x100 Meter Relay, the team of KJ Bush, Braydon Haley, Justin Ernest and Gabriel Tretter placed second in the 4x400 Meter Relay, and the team of Brenton Abbott, Justin Ernest, Chance Carter and Gabriel Tretter placed second in the 4x800 Meter Relay. 

Junior Jonathan Borges placed third in the Shot Put and fifth in the Discus, while Gamble placed fourth in the High Jump. Dominick Russ placed second in the Long Jump and Mason Reimers placed fourth in the Triple Jump to round out the Leyton medal winners.

 For Potter-Dix, medal winners included Luke Kasten and Javon Coyle placing fifth and sixth in the 200 Meters, Thomas Muldoon with a third place finish in the 400 Meters and a second place finish in the 800 Meters, Brayden Kasten earned fifth place in the 1600 Meters, Jared Anton placed second in the 110 Meter Hurdles.

The team of Ben Johnson, Javon Coyle, Luke Kasten and Donnie Moench placed second in the 4x100 Meter Relay, the team of Thomas Muldoon, Brayden Kasten, James Pease and Zach Rotertrt  placed third in the 4x800 Meter Relay.

Kyle Evans placed sixth in the Shot Put, Luke Kasten placed third and Ben Johnson placed fifth in the High Jump, Jared Anton earned second place in the Pole Vault.

For the Leyton girls, Axi Bensih took fifth place in the 100 Meters, third place in the 200 Meters and fourth place in the 400 Meters. Ashton VanAnne placed fifth in the 100 Meter Hurldes.

For the Potter-Dix girls, Kylie Fiehtner placed first in the High Jump and sixth in the 400 Meters, the team of Lily Tabor, Mary Kasten, Jacina Wilbur and Kallie Crossman placed sixth in the 4x100 Meter Relay, the team of Jayden Shoemaker, Mary Kasten, Sierra Schinker and Madison Williamson placed sixth in the 4x800 Meter Relay.
