Gentrys Selected as 2021 Old Settlers King and Queen

Gerald and Karen Gentry have made their home in Lodgepole for nearly 52 years.

They were married in November 1969. The Gentrys were blessed with two daughters, Ronda Sue and Lisa JoAnn. They have two grandchildren, Austin and Ember.

Gerald grew up on a farm south of Lodgepole. He graduated from Lodgepole High in 1966. His love for cars led him to build his own body shop on the old football field on the south side of town in 1980. Gerald owned and operated the shop for 36 years.

Gerald has always been community minded and has served on the Lodgepole Fire Department and Village Board. He enjoys motorcycle trips, cars, traveling and family and friends' time.

Karen grew up on a farm near Big Springs and graduated from Big Springs High School in 1969. Karen managed a Day Care Center in Sidney for many years. She also worked for Cabela's for many years in the Retail and Corporate Sales departments before retiring.

Karen has served on the Nancy Fawcett Memorial Library board for eight years and has served on various committees for the Lodgepole community. She enjoys cooking and baking, gardening crafts and time spent with family and friends.

Karen and Gerald now share their retirement time between Lodgepole and the Black Hills of South Dakota where Gerald has built a cabin. Their daughter, Lisa and her husband David, live nearby in Custer.
