Karen Sue Koester

Karen Sue Koester, 61 of Padroni passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021, in Greeley, CO. Viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday, September 7 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 8 at Peetz Community Methodist Church with Pastor Jodie Harless as officiant. Burial will follow at Peetz Cemetery.

Karen was born January 12, 1960, in Sterling, Colorado to Vern “Slim” Dale Koester and Barbara Anne (Quirey) Koester. She attended school in Padroni, K-1st grades and at Peetz schools 2nd-12th grades. Karen worked at Pizza Hut and Peetz Schools for many years. She was a longtime member of Peetz Community Methodist Church. Karen’s family was very special to her, and she enjoyed socializing with her friends. She loved caring for the family dog, “Bear.”

She is preceded in death by her brother Mike Koester; grandparents August and Elfrieda Koester and Gerald and Ethel Klee.

Karen is survived by her parents Vern “Slim” and Barbara Koester; siblings Tom Koester and wife Diane of Sterling, CO, Deb Sargent and husband Bob of Sidney, NE, Kathy Glassburn and husband Del of Sterling, CO, and Terry Carwin and husband Randy of Iliff, CO; nephews Jeff Koester, Brandt Sargent, Tyler Glassburn, Trevor Glassburn, J.P. Carwin, and Kegan Carwin; niece Kelli Hawkins, 9 great nephews and nieces with another nephew due in November; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
