Lady Coyotes Take Two During Tough Week

Potter-Dix's Lady Coyote Volleyball team had a busy week, playing five matches and going 2-for-3 during the stretch. The week started with a triangular at Kimball, and the Lady Coyotes matched up against a tough Mitchell team, and the Lady Tigers were caught off-guard in the first set, losing 25-to-23 to a determined Lady Coyote team. But the Lady Tigers then showed why they're one of the panhandle's best teams by regrouping and taking the next two sets with relative ease, 25-to-14 and 25-to-16 for the 2-to-1 match victory. Senior Kendal Nielsen led the offense with five kills while junior Lily Tabor hit three service aces in the loss.

Next the Lady Coyotes matched up with Kimball, and dropped the first set 25-to-17 before regrouping and taking the next two sets 25-to-21 for the 2-to-1 match victory. On Saturday, the Lady Coyotes travelled for tournament action in Bridgeport and won their first match against Hyannis in straight sets, 25-to-10 and 25-to-17. They next faced Mitchell for the second time in the week, and this time the Lady Tigers were ready and easily dispatched Potter-Dix in straight sets 25-to-12 and 25-to-10. In their final match of the day, Potter-Dix matched up against the powerhouse Bridgeport Lady Bulldogs, and the Lady Coyotes put up a good fight but were swept 25-to-20 and 25-to-18.

Potter-Dix moves to 4-and-5 on the season and next face Paxton on the road on Friday September 17.
