Lodgepole Community Fund Makes Grants to Panther Activity Center

LODGEPOLE – The Panther Activity Center (PAC) in Lodgepole, Nebraska, formerly the old Lodgepole High School building, has received funding from the Lodgepole Community Fund (LCF) to repair the air conditioning unit and to assist with updating the memorabilia room. The Lodgepole Community Fund (LCF) also helped upgrade and update the sound system in the gym.

The Village of Lodgepole took ownership of the PAC last year and moved the Village offices in August 2021. One of the former classrooms is now a weight room/workout center and another room is used for a community meeting space. The gym is used regularly for events and exercise. If you are interested in using the PAC, please contact the Lodgepole Village Office, 308.483.5353.

Organized in 2019, the Lodgepole Community Fund is working to preserve Lodgepole’s rich history and create a brighter future for the Lodgepole community. The Fund is committed to building an unrestricted endowment and providing avenues for individuals and businesses to give back to their community. LCF’s first project was to help raise money to maintain the PAC for current and future use. Money received for the PAC through LCF goes into a separate account specifically for the purpose of upkeep and maintenance.

The Lodgepole Community Fund is also raising money to match the Yanney Challenge that will grow the unrestricted endowment account. If you are interested in knowing more about LCF we invite you to join us Saturday, November 13, to discuss Lodgepole’s future or contact one of the Fund Advisory Committee members: Gwen Devie, Bill Taylor, Cindy Bondegard, Tom Nelson, Janet Fox, Gary Addison, Gordy Wilkins and Glenda Shellhorn. Representatives from the Lodgepole Depot Museum also serve on the committee.
