Prayer, Praise and Thanksgiving

If you awakened in the morning and had only that which you had thanked God for the night before …. what would you have ?

Sometimes we become so focused on what we don’t have that we lose sight of what we do have and how God truly has blessed us. For most of us it is easy to pray our prayer requests to God and easy for us to forget to thank him for what he has done.

An important part of our church women’s bible study is to pray for the concerns of the members of our church, community and the world. There are so many needs that sometimes our hearts become heavy with concern. Our prayers of thanksgiving and praise lift our spirits and keep our eyes on the Giver of all things.

In the same way, thanksgiving should come naturally in our personal prayers. It makes such a difference in our prayer life and carries over into our day. It is true that the more we express gratitude, the more we see things for which to be grateful.

May our hearts be full of gratitude this Thanksgiving. Let us lift up our hearts in praise and thanksgiving when we gather together with family or if we are alone with the Lord. Above all, let us give thanks to God for giving us Jesus Christ, His Son, our Saviour!!

2 Corinthians 9:15: “ Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!”
