Sidney Girls Take Mitchell Invitational

Sidney's Red Raider Track and Field teams traveled north on Saturday to compete at the Mitchell Invitational, and the girls squad took top honors with 99 points while the boys squad was edged out for first place by Chadron by one half point.

Twelve teams competed in the girls events while 11 competed in the boys events. The weather cooperated nicely with cool weather warming up as the day progressed with only mild winds through the day.

The Lady Raiders won many medals, with golds for junior Gabrielle Fortner in the 200 Meters at 27.33, sophomore Talissa Tanquary in the 800 Meters at 2:31.0...
