Leyton Boys Place Second at Pine Bluffs Meet

Potter-Dix, Sidney JV Also Compete

Leyton's Warrior Boy's Track and Field team continued their success this season by placing second at the Kendra Roeder Invitational, formerly the Pine Bluffs Invitational, in Pine Bluffs, Wyo., on Friday.

The Leyton boys placed second with 77.5 points, behind Laramie that placed first with 191 points and ahead of the Burns team that placed third with 75.5 points. The Leyton girl's team placed sixth with 39 points, with Laramie, Burns and Southeast placing first, second and third respectively.

Potter-Dix brought their teams to the meet, and the boy's squad placed eighth with 42 points and the girls also placed eighth, with 19.5 points. Sidney split their squads and had the junior varsity team compete while the varsity squads were in Lexington for the Don Bader Invitational. The Sidney boys junior varsity placed fifth with 61 points, while the girls junior varsity placed 11th with six points.

Outstanding performances for the boys included Potter-Dix senior Thomas Muldoon winning the 800 Meters by a wide margin with a time of 2:05.71, Sidney sophomore Vernon Graham and freshman Landon Riddle placing third and fourth in the 100 Meters, Potter-Dix junior Luke Kasten placing third in the 200 Meters, and Leyton juniors Justin Ernest and Cort Rummel placing second and third in the 400 Meters. Sidney freshman Noah Canas placed second in the 3200 Meters, while Leyton senior Scout Gamble and Leyton junior Kaleb Borges placed third and fourth in the 110 Meter Hurdles.

Sidney's 4X100 Meter Relay team (Landon Riddle, Owen Gillham, Vernon Graham, Brayden Weinbender) placed third and the 4X400 Meter Relay team (Brayden Weinbender, Noah Canas, Benjamin Borchard, Conner Hurt) also placed third. In the Sprint Medley Relay, Leyton's team (Cort Rummel, Justin Ernest, Chance Carter, Gabriel Tretter) placed second followed by Potter-Dix (Luke Kasten, Alex Anton, Thomas Muldoon, Brayden Kasten) placing third. Leyton freshman Zachary Anderson placed fourth in the Shot Put, followed by Leyton senior Jonathan Borges in sixth. Borges placed second in the Discus, followed by Leyton junior Logan Bartling in fourth and Sidney senior Gunnar Dorcey in fifth. Potter-Dix senior Thomas Muldoon placed third in the High Jump followed by Leyton senior Scout Gamble in fifth, and Leyton senior Mason Reimers placed second in the Long Jump.

Outstanding performances by the girls included Leyton freshman Shawnee Gamble placing third in the 200 Meters, and Leyton senior Axi Benish, fresh off of her record setting 1600 Meter time in last week's Creek Valley Twilight Invitational, placing second in the 800 Meters.

Potter-Dix junior Jayden Shoemaker placed third in the 3200 Meters, while Leyton freshman Axi Benish placed first in the 300 Meter Hurdles and third in the 100 Meter Hurdles, the Leyton's 4X100 Meter Relay team (Trinity Beutler, Claire Watchorn, Shawnee Gamble, Zaili Benish) placed third.
