Donald R. Flohr, age 77, of Sidney, NE passed away in Sidney on Friday, June 10, 2022.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, June 24, 2022, at Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney with Pastor Bud Gillespie officiating.

Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Thursday from 1-6:00 P.M. to leave condolences for the family. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to VF@W Post #610, or DAV Chapter #40. Donald Ray Flohr was born December 8, 1944 in Dalton, NE to Alex and Florence “Dolly” (Neel) Flohr. Don was the oldest of 6 children, with 4 brothers and 1 sister. He was raised and attended school in Dalton, graduating in 1963. In 1966 he enlisted into the U.S. Army serving until 1968.

On November 7, 1968, he was united in marriage to Karen Hansen in Gering, NE. Throughout his life, he worked at Cheyenne County Highway Dept., Nebraska Dept. of Roads and City of Sidney Street Dept. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and spending time at his trailer at Lake Mac.

Don is survived by his children Kim and husband Todd Dailey of Sidney, NE and Mike Martinosky of Kearney, NE; brothers Rich and wife Connie of Ulysses, KS, Phil and wife Twila of Gurley, NE, Joe of Dalhart, TX; sister Norma Wright and husband Steve of Sidney, NE; grandchildren Amber and Trevor; brother-in-law Jerry Hansen, many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Don was preceded in death by his wife, Karen; parents Alex and Dolly; brother Bill, mother and father in-law Clarence and Ada; sister-in-law Connie Vaagen and brother-in-law Harold Vaagen.
