On Tuesday, August 23, the Lady Raider Golf team hosted the Sidney Invite at Hillside Golf Course. The area's best teams attended, and the girls from Scottsbluff took top honors with an overall score of 321. Ogallala came in second place with a score of 421, followed by Gering with a score of 442. The Sidney team finished in fifth place with a score of 499.

Aubree Larson led the scoring for the Lady Raiders with a round of 96, good enough for ninth place individually. Claire Jordan finished in 23rd place with a 121 followed by Kat Jallen in 28th place with a 135 and Jordan DeNovellis in 33rd place with a score of 139. Peyton Sprenger rounded out the Sidney team finishing in 35th place with a score of 146.

Head Coach Tyler Shaw was pleased with the results. “We are very happy with the results, with Aubree cracking the top ten and Claire Jordan cutting 24 strokes off of her district score from last year. We are happy to break 500 as a team as that only happened in a couple of tournaments lat year. We hope to learn from this first tournament and keep improving as the season progresses,” Shaw said. The girls team next travels to Scottsbluff on Tuesday for tournament action.
