Delta Dawn When the Light Comes On With Ivy Joy Johnson

"Behold how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell in unity. It is like precious anointing oil on the head; like the dew descending, for it is there the Lord commands a blessing - Life forevermore!" Psalm 133

Rejoicing, giving thanks and expectation creates the perfect atmosphere for miracles to occur. Harvest is over, thankfully. There's money for Christmas giving, time for family, friends and food. The heart smiles and the soul sings.

"Whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive!" Jesus said. Being so fresh from God, children believe, pray their desires, and expect them to appear! Children observe, and mimic, behaviors they see. Their hearts anticipate every Christmas promise! Expectation grows to epic proportions with each passing day.

The Christmas program was big stuff in our country school. We planned and rehearsed for weeks. I once was assigned a poem to recite by Marchette Gaylord Chute: "I told them I didn't like mittens, I told them as plain as plain. I told them I didn't WANT mittens, and they've given me mittens again!" Then came toys made by our parents. (We recognized Mom's stuffed animals). There was a stocking with nuts in the shell, hard candy and an orange. A "Ho! Ho! Ho!" caused my little sister to exclaim, "It's Grandma!" Surely, we'd harmlessly outgrow this bit of deception...

Looking back, even then, schools were instructed to curb a child's use of 'religion' in school events, and rebellion against parents was deemed 'cute and funny'. We were unaware of Supreme Court dynamics as children. Since parents did not object, our naïve efforts were applauded. Years later, we assumed this same cavalier attitude when the government took Bibles out of our child's classroom.

Why was truth not told? Parents, pastors and teachers simply were not aware of the danger! Chief Justice Earl Warren was appointed October 14, 1953. This 'Warren Court' proceeded with anti-God opinions our government leaders urged us to follow. June 14, 1954 President Dwight D. Eisenhower added 'under God' to the Pledge of Allegiance. Comedian Red Skelton prayed, "God forbid this pledge be considered a prayer and be taken out of schools!" Thankfully, June 24, 2022 reversed the worst attacks on families, but an undertow still pulls at our schools.

Today, education is our nation's number one industry, designed, not to educate but to intimidate, confuse and infuse our future with Marxism. Studies show that the more educated one is, the more one believes government is an infallible god.

God's Original Intent gave us authority in such matters. Our voices, in Jesus' Name, quickly bind the devil or loose the Lord of Hosts. Teaching our children to seek God's Kingdom and to demonstrate the reality of redemption, rather than religious rituals, is vital. "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6
