Delta Dawn When the Light Comes On: Week Six

"He who loves his brother lives in the Light and there is no cause for stumbling in him. Greater is He Who is in you than he who is in the world, because He has given us of His Spirit; you have an anointing from the Holy One to love as God has loved. God IS Love." 1 John 2:10, 20; 4:4. [As I bow before you, Lord, I will rise in confidence, I will see Your goodness, Lord, in the land I'm living in]. Song lyrics

Homer and Emma began their day singing, "I've got the peace that passes understanding, down in my heart, down in my heart, down in my heart to stay!" They laughed together. This, definitely, was a day the Lord had made and they resolved to be glad in it for honoring Him is favor unfailing.

Even if it would cost him his job, today, Homer would tell his boss, CEO of Kimray, Tom Hill, that the position offered him would require telling a lie, slandering his company and demeaning his employer. "No Way!"

The couple shared another prayer, agreeing to hold Mr. Hill, and Nola in high esteem, asking Father to direct the conversation during Kimray's 10 AM meeting. Homer arrived at work early and set about his daily tasks. He was still whistling when the HR Assistant came to escort him to Tom Hill's office.

After preliminary greetings, Tom asked the crucial question, "Have you considered our offer of a promotion, pay raise and signing bonus?"

Homer stood up. "Yes Sir, I have, and I must say 'No. I don't want the job'".

"On what grounds?" Tom demanded. Homer remained standing, "I refuse to lie, Sir. Further I will not slander this company or call into questions the reputation of its owner, operations or employees."

Tom slapped his desk, shouting, "Marvelous!" Nola stood, clapping, as Tom grabbed Homer's hand with both of his and congratulated him on a wise decision. "We thought we could trust you, Homer!" he exclaimed. The HR Assistant turned away, hesitated, then quietly left the room.

"Actually," Tom went on, "We are developing a new program for hiring, training and sustaining our workforce. We must encourage everyone while they work at Kimray. We must create strategies to educate and enhance their time, here. You are the catalyst we need. Your office will create a program to teach, and reward, good character in this facility." You'll be a liaison between CEO, HR, Pastor Bill and employees. "Will you accept this offer?" Homer shouted, "YES!"

Pastor Bill became Homer's 'spiritual spotter' to expose the 'hidden, inner man' of God-given qualities in current and future Kimray employees. "He will teach us His ways and we will walk in His paths." Isaiah 2:3 "Stir one another up to love and good works." Hebrews 10:24
