Free paper shredding event coming to Sidney
June 15, 2023
Over the course of the year, papers can easily pile up and cramp your space. however, just throwing out papers is not a very safe thing to do, as much of the paperwork people accumulate through the course of a year contains personal and sensitive information, and should be destroyed properly. Papers taking up your space becomes a bigger problem when disposing of the old sheets hasn’t been done for a few years.
Enter Keep Sidney Beautiful and their annual “Shred-It” program. Cheyenne County residents are invited to stop by 1333 Illinois St, behind Holly Realtors, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, to properly dispose of there old paperwork. Each resident gets up to one free full trash can worth of paper to have shredded at no charge. Additional trash cans full of paper are only $5 to dispose of, after the first.
Sabrina Murphy of Keep Sidney Beautiful helped coordinate the event, which is very well attended every year. “We had hundreds of pounds of paper shredded and destroyed last year, and we expect even more this year. She also thanked City Manager David Scott for his help coordinating the event, as well as sponsors Security First Bank, Sutton Home Gallery, Aliens and Strangers Music and Allo Fiber.
If you have any questions about the event or need additional details, contact Sabrina Murphy at 402-672-5266.
