Katie Ramsey signs with Oklahoma State

National letter of intent with the Division I equestrian program at OSU makes it official

Sidney senior Katie Ramsey signed her National Letter Intent to compete with the Equestrian Team for Oklahoma State.

Katie Ramsey, a senior at Sidney High School, signed her national letter of intent with the Division I equestrian program at Oklahoma State University. The Cowgirls are the three-time defending Big 12 Conference champions and the 2022 National Collegiate Equestrian Association national champions.  

Katie has competed in reining for seven years under the guidance of her trainer Drake Johnson.  She is a 2 time American Quarter Horse Youth Association level 3 finalist. Additional highlights include a top 10 finish in the National Reining Horse Association world standings, Non-Pro Derby champion at the Columbine Classic, and Non-Pro champion at the Tulsa Reining Classic. 


Oklahoma State is led by longtime head coach Larry Sanchez and their western coach is Laura Brainard.
