CHAPPELL- This past weekend had a lot of fishing going on around the area, from the Father's Day Fishing event at Legion Park in Sidney, the Youth Outdoors Junior Fishing Tournament at Lake McConaughy and in Chappell, the Lion Club Sponsored the Ron Jacobs Memorial Fishing Derby Saturday morning.
The event in Chappell was for kids aged 2-to-12, and beautiful weather greeted the young anglers. Organizer Samantha Isenbart and a group of volunteers made sure everyone had snacks, waters and the equipment necessary for a good day fishing. This year was the 28th year the event was held.
