Sidney Cruise N Class Ready to Rock Sidney With Classic Cars and Celebrities

SIDNEY--The Cruise N Class Rod & Roll Car Show will be a big event in Sidney on October 5, and for the 38th year, classic cars, hot rods, and outstanding modern automobiles will delight the crowds that descend upon Sidney for one of the area's best-attended and fun events. This year's event will feature stars from the hit TV show "Counting Cars" who will be on hand to talk to show attendees and judge some of the vehicles in certain categories.

Started in 1986, the event has consistently grown and has become one of the largest car shows in the area. It coincides with the Oktoberfest celebration, so the big crowd that will be in Sidney for those festivities will also be able to enjoy the car show. Event organizers have said that they have had pre-registrations for cars as far as Gilead, NE, approximately 350 miles away, as well as people from Aurora, CO., Hot Springs, SD and Cheyenne, WY. Last year, the Sun-Telegraph spoke with attendees who traveled from Oregon to show off their Corvette.

The entire Legion Park area will be stacked with an incredible array of classic cars and modern favorites, everything ranging from specialty vehicles, trucks, muscle cars, and of course, sports cars. The event usually coincides with the change of weather and the fall colors in the air, so it is an enjoyable event for all. Vendors providing all kinds of delicious delights will be on hand, and there will be something for everyone at the event.

The stars of "Counting Cars" will be on hand to enjoy the festivities Organizers thought it would be a good idea to get some celebrity representatives of car culture to

attend. Event organizer Bridget Russell said that she met the "Counting Cars" guys at another car show, and asked them about the process to come to the Cruise N Class show. Once they confirmed they were free for the October 5 weekend, the Cruise N Class club held a vote and started the booking process. Unfortunately, one of the popular stars, "Horny Mike", will be unable to attend but Ryan Evans and Ghetto Bob will be at the event. Ryan will be judging and giving out the "Best Paint" trophy, and Ghetto Bob will be picking out his favorite vehicle. The Counts Kustom crew will be circulating about during the show talking to people and checking out all the fantastic cars.

Russell wanted to point out how amazing the sponsors have been for the show, and how important their support and generosity are to making the event successful. Russell said that Adams Autos will be donating a car for the "Counting Cars" crew to use, Dude's Steakhouse will be providing them with dinner and their hotel rooms have been sponsored. Sponsors from Sidney, Chappell, and Kimball have all contributed to make sure the event is outstanding.

The event starts on October 5 at 11 a.m., and awards start at 3 p.m. Local vendors like Jimmy L's BBQ, the Popkorn Trailer, and Price Cream Company will serve food. The awards feature a People's Choice Award, so attendees can contribute to the event in addition to just enjoying the views. The Cruise N Class car club is always looking for new members, it is only $5 per year and they have monthly meetings. If you are interested in the club, email any questions you might have to [email protected] or message them at the Sidney Cruise 'N Class Facebook page.
