Jennifer (Plank) Stern, 53, died in a plane crash on Dec. 29, 2012, near San Diego, Calif. The pilot of the plane was her husband, William Stern, 65, who also died in the accident, and daughter, Katelyn, 19, a passenger in the plane also perished in the accident.

Jennifer was born in Granby, Colo., on Aug. 19, 1959, to Billy and Jane Plank. She graduated from Sidney High School in 1978. She attended travel agent school in Phoenix, Ariz. She became a flight attendant for America West Airlines, working in that position for the next 10 years. She married William Stern in Phoenix on Nov. 2, 1991. To that union one daughter was born, Katelyn Jane Stern.

Jennifer is survived by her mother, Mary Jane Plank, of Tempe, Ariz.; brothers, Brian (Elena) Plank, of North Platte, Scott Plank, of Mountain View, Calif.; sister, Julie (Stan) Gray, of Larkspur, Calif.; her aunt, Betty Kohnen, of Aurora, Colo.; uncle, Russell (Inez) Plank, of Loveland, Colo.; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Plank.

Services were at St. Barnabas Episcopalian Church, 6717 North Mocking bird St., Paradise Valley, Ariz. Reception to follow at Paradise Valley Country Club. Cremation was chosen.
