Money up for grabs; RMEL foundation deadline fast approaching

Wheat Belt PPD and RMEL Foundation join forces to promote higher education in the Wheat Belt service territory. Up to $2,500 worth of scholarships are available to students pursuing a career in engineering or curriculum related to the electric industry.

All scholarship applicants must be a high school senior or college undergraduate enrolled in and pursuing an undergraduate or associate degree, or an electric utility position certificate at a college with the intent to enter the electric energy industry. 

The completed application, along with the necessary documents must be submitted to the RMEL office by March 8, 2013.

UNMC students make dean’s list

The University of Nebraska Medical Center has announced its dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester for the Colleges of Nursing, Pharmacy and Dentistry and the radiation science technology and clinical laboratory science programs at the School of Allied Health Professions.

To qualify for the dean’s list, nursing, radiation science technology and clinical laboratory science students must be enrolled for 12 or more hours during the semester and have a grade point average of 3.75 or above. Pharmacy students must place in the top 20 percent of their class and maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or above, and College of Dentistry students must be in the top 10 percent of their class.

The following area students at the UNMC College of Nursing West Nebraska Division (Scottsbluff) were honored. Stefani Groshans, Dalton, and Lorna Busko, Sidney.
