Owner brings a lifetime of experience to new quilting store

More than Quilts held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday afternoon to commemorate their grand opening.

Owner Mary Barnett's background fueled a desire to open a sewing and crafting store. Barnett grew up in northern California and learned to sew and craft from her mother.

"It's fair to say that I've been sewing for more than 45 years," Barnett said.

She spent 13 years moving and traveling around the world as an Army wife. Her passion for sewing helped keep her family clothed during that time.

Today, Barnett's main focus is on machine embroidery and quilting.

It took three weeks to get ready for the main opening of More than Quilts. Barnett realized there was a great need for a fabric store...
