Former Sidney youth to compete in Junior Olympics

Just two years ago at age 12, Nick Edwards joined thelocal gun club in Soldotna, Alaska. He began shooting Trap and Skeet with other youth on a Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) team. He has practiced weekly since then, except for the middle of winter months when it reaches below zero and there is a heavy layer of snow on the ground.

The work paid off. This spring, Edwards competed in the first ever Alaska State Qualifier for the Junior Olympics (JO). He placed second overall in both Trap and Double Trap, which qualified him for the USAS National Junior Olympic Championships in Color...
