Cabela's, Huge Foundation extend women's leadership scholarship program

Cabela’s and the Harry and Reba Huge Foundation have decided to extend the Women in Leadership scholarship program for an additional five years. The $10,000 scholarships are designated for women graduating from Nebraska high schools.

The Cabela’s Women in Leadership scholarships are part of the company’s initiative to encourage young women to prepare to become tomorrow’s leaders. The scholarships are awarded to women who graduate in the spring and plan to attend college the following fall. Scholarship winners may attend any college or university.

Winners receive $10,000 – $2,500 per year for four years – as well as the opportunity to be mentored by women in leadership positions at Cabela’s. They also have the opportunity to receive internships with the company’s organization and cultural enrichment and networking through the Huge Foundation.

“These are extraordinary scholarships,” said Jack Siemsen, the president and CEO of the Harry and Reba Huge Foundation. “They not only provide substantial financial support to these very deserving young women, but they also open doors to special leadership opportunities within the Cabela’s organization. It ids a concrete expression of Cabela’s strong commitment to diversity and inclusivity.”

Applications for 2015 scholarships are due March 7, 2015, and will be available beginning Dec. 1 through the ScholarshipQuest website at http://www.educationquest.org, and the Harry and Reba Huge Foundation website at http://www.thehugefoundation.org.
