School Bond Issue: Sidney superintendent spells out reasons a new school is needed

Town hall meetings planned to inform voters about issues

Classes are regularly held in the hallways – in front of two restrooms – at North Elementary because of overcrowding.

Voters will go to the polls on Tuesday, Feb. 10 to decide on the fate of the school bond issue.

It will mark the third time residents have voted on the issue since September 2013, with the two previous bond measures failing by narrow margins each time.

Two town hall meetings will be held in the coming weeks to help inform the public about the issues. The public is invited to attend and ask questions. The first will be Feb. 2 at North Elementary and the second on Feb. 5 at South Elementary. The meetings begin at 6:30 p.m., but tours of each school will be available beginning at 5:30 p.m. eac...
