Baggs wins title at Peetz Local Spelling Bee

The Peetz Local Spelling Bee was held last week, with Dylan Baggs of Sidney coming out on top. Bryson Long of Peetz finished second. The top 25 spellers based on a written test competed for 10 spots – eight qualifiers and two alternates. That group advances to the Regional Bee in Brush, Colo., on Feb. 2. They are: pictured in the back row – Baggs, Jakob Kurz, Long, Sarah Davis and Matthew Davis; and front row – Gage Soucie, Owen Kurz, Gus Cowan, Michael Ramos and Dani Albus.
