Wheat Belt announces local scholarship winners

Wheat Belt recent;y awarded one $1,000 Basin Electric Scholarship, one $100 Arbor Wealth Scholarship, two $500 Tri-State Scholarships and two Technical Wheat Belt Scholarships to six outstanding area youths.

Jared Westman was selected to receive the $1,000 Basin Scholarship. Jared is the son of Robert and Merry Westman of Gurley. He plans to attend the University of Nebraska at Kearney in the fall. His major course of study will be clinical lab science.

Tanner Nienhueser was selected to receive the $100 Arbor Wealth Scholarship. Tanner is the son of Bruce and Lisa Nienhueser of Sidney. He plans to attend the University of Wyoming in the fall. His major course of study will be in agriculture business.

Tyler Miller was selected to receive a $500 Tri-State Scholarship. Tyler is the son of Randy and Tracy Miller of Sidney. He plans to attend Bryan College of Health Science of Lincoln in the fall. His major course of study will be in nursing.

Brooke Harding was selected to receive the second $500 Tri-State Scholarship. Brooke is the daughter of Lloyd and Danielle Harding of Bridgeport. She plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Kearney in the fall. Her major course of study will be in Nursing.

Logan Criswell was selected to receive a $500 Wheat Belt Technical Scholarship. He is the son of Doug and Karla Criswell of Chappell. He will be attending Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colo. His course of study will be in farm and ranch management.

Aimee Hass was selected to receive the second $500 Wheat Belt Technical Scholarship.  Aimee is the daughter of Regan Hass and Tammy Brue of Bridgeport. She plans to attend Denver School of Massage Therapy. Her major course of study will be massage therapy.

The scholarship program is designed to encourage and recognize the academic achievements and provide financial assistance to deserving children of member consumers.
