Back-to-school book drive in full swing

Getting ready for your children to head back to school? Take a look through your child’s book shelf and donate the gently used children’s books your family no longer reads to the Friends of the Sidney Public Library.

All books collected will be distributed to local businesses for the use of their youngest patrons while they are waiting for appointments or for business to be completed.

“One of our organization’s goals is to promote literacy throughout the community,” said Lisa Davis, president of the Friends of the Sidney Public Library. “This book drive is a great opportunity to help local children and area businesses.”

The library has made it easy to share the love of reading with a child. Books can be placed in the drop box at the Sidney Public Library, located at 1112 12th Ave.

The book drive continues until Aug. 15.
