Kathleen Rhea Jensen, 72, of Bridgeport, died Tuesday, Dec. 1, at her home. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 7, at the First Presbyterian Church in Bridgeport. Her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at the church on Monday, Dec. 7, with Reverend Jonathan Berosek officiating. Cremation will follow at Dugan-Kramer Crematory in Scottsbluff. Kathy was born June 20, 1943 at Lynch to Harry Harold and Mercedes Virginia (Beran) Ruda. She graduated from Spencer High School and Nebraska Wesleyan College. She worked for a few years in Omaha before moving to Bridgeport. Kathy was united in marriage to James David Jensen on March 24, 1979 at the First Presbyterian Church in Bridgeport. The couple made their home and raised their family west of Dalton.
Kathy was instrumental in establishing the Boy and Girl Scouts as well as the baseball and softball T-ball programs in Dalton. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Dalton.
Kathy moved to Bridgeport in 2004. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bridgeport. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and cats.
Kathy is survived by her husband James, daughter and son-in-law Dr. Debra and Michael Vondracek, son TSGT Steven Jensen, daughters Megan Jensen and Sara Jensen.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
