A memorial account has been set up at American National Bank (Main Bank and Drive up locations) for Tabitha Davis. Donations can be made to: “Tabitha Davis Memorial Fund” to help defray expenses and to benefit twin daughters “Emmersynne Joy & Ellyeaunnah Grace”.

Tuesday, Jan. 5

The Jr. Friends of the Library will be meeting Tuesday, Jan. 5, at the Sidney Public Library beginning at 5 p.m. This group welcomes youth 7th through 12th grade with emphasis on community involvement. For more information, please call the library at (308) 254-3110.

A Parkinson’s support group for the Western Nebraska area meets on the first Tuesday of each month, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 312 W. 16th St., Alliance. Call Dee Brauninger at (308) 763-1254 with questions or email her at brauninger@bbc.net.

Jan. 6 & 7

The Sidney Public Library will resume Toddler Tales beginning Wednesday, Jan. 6, for children ages 2 and 3 at 10:15 a.m. In addition, Storytime will resume Thursday, Jan. 7, at 10:15 a.m. for children ages 4 and 5. Both sessions feature story and related fingerplays and or songs. For more information and or to register your child please call the library at (308) 254-3110.

Cheyenne County Art Guild Meeting meets the second Monday of each month at Light Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1345 Illinois (enter through west door). For more information, contact Jane Easterly, (308) 254-4052.

Thursday, Jan. 14

Cancer survivor support group meets every SECOND Thursday, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Dorwart Cancer Care Center. Great topics/food/fellowship. Call Leslie at (308) 250-1113 with questions.

Saturday, Jan. 16

A benefit pancake feed and 5K for Deuel County Sheriff Deputy Mike Hutchinson will be held at the Cheyenne County Fairgrounds. The pancake feed starts at 7 a.m., followed by a 5K walk at 8 and run at 8:15. Hutchinson was shot several times and seriously injured in the line of duty.
