Cabela's to host emergency training

Cabela’s will host an emergency response team training exercise at its main corporate campus, on Old Post Road, the morning of Saturday, May 7, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Local emergency response teams have previously conducted similar trainings in schools and hospitals throughout and county, and asked if Cabela’s would be willing to host an exercise at its corporate campus. Participating in the training will be the Sidney Police Department, Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office, Sidney ERC, Nebraska State Patrol and other neighboring emergency response teams.

The corporate campus, including parking lots, will be closed and blocked off during the duration of the exercise and several emergency response personnel and vehicles will be gathered around the area. Only pre-enrolled volunteers and emergency response personnel will be allowed on the campus during that time. Local authorities have asked that the public refrain from attempting to enter the corporate campus or using the Sidney Deadwood Trail near that area during the training.

Cabela’s, the Sidney Police Department, Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office and all other organizations involved in the training appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
