When asked about those interviewing for the annual scholarship, Club President and committee

member, Tom Hyde said, "All of the applicants were outstanding, and the decision, as usual, was

extremely difficult."

"I think all of the candidates had excellent credentials." Committee member, Jim Holechek

said.

Hyde continued, "Jacob Spachek's commitment to service in the community and elsewhere

impressed the committee as the candidate that best exemplified Rotary's Motto: 'Service above

Self'".

"I thought Jacob's mission trip certainly met that criteria, best," Holechek said. "We also felt

that the work he did to become an Eagle Scout was a real plus."

"Our club enjoys interviewing such good kids who are graduating from Sidney High. It's always

a heartening experience to our members," Scholarship Committee Chair, Greg Scripp said

about the annual selection process. "Whether continuing a post-secondary education or pursuing

job opportunities, the Sidney Rotary Club wishes all of the seniors continued success in their

endeavors."

youth activities such as summer baseball, Boy's State, CASA, the Rotary Youth Leadership
