Rodeo royalty represents Cheyenne County

Rodeo Queen Ashlyn Roelle and her Lady in Waiting, Carissa Radtke were chosen to represent Cheyenne County for 2016-2017. The royal duo can be seen at various events this week at the Cheyenne County Fair and Rodeo.

Rodeo Queen Ashlyn Roelle and the Lady in Waiting, Carissa Radtke will represent Cheyenne County for 2016-2017.

To become rodeo royalty, it takes more than just a sparkly crown and an amazing wave. Roelle said the process takes quite a bit of practice.

Like all good royalty the process starts with a dress.

"We have to have a western dress for the judging competition," said Roelle. "There are a few requirements for the outfit, some of which include the cowboy hat and boots, and the belt buckle."
