Cool Kids Club gears up for summer program

Cool Kids Club (CKC) students visit the Wounded Warriors Shelby Mustang at last year's summer program. This year's CKC summer program begins May 31.

Cool Kids Club will kick off its summer season May 31, offering area youth a place to have fun and learn through the hot summer days.

According to CKC Director, Colleen Langdon, CKC began in October 2001 when school administrators from Sidney and Chadron wrote a joint grant to begin a before, after and summer school program in their communities. A $1.5 million three-year grant was awarded under the "No Child Left Behind" federal initiative.
