Carley Witt placed fifth in the ladies division at the 49th Cornhusker National Junior/Senior High School Trap Shoot.
More than 2,400 youth participated in the trap shooting event that was held in Doniphan May 3-5.
In trap shooting participants shoot at targets called "clay pigeons" these targets are typically launched into the air by spring traps.
For the Cornhusker competition, Witt said participants shot five clay targets at five stations for a total of 75 targets.
