Sidney Shooting Park Benefit Dinner, Auction Set for May

The Sidney Shooting Park is hosting its ninth all-you-can-eat Rocky Mountain Oyster dinner — or a chicken strip alternative — and auction May 18 at the Cheyenne County Fairgrounds.

Dinner includes beans, potato salad, coleslaw, dessert, coffee, tea or water.

The event is scheduled for 5 p.m. To 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at Performance Automotive & Towing LLC, KISST Organics, Vitalix or from any Sidney Sharpshooters 4-H member.

The event includes games and silent auction, as well as several guns for raffle. Tickets for gun raffles can be purchased ahead of time and the buyer does not have to be present to win. Gun raffles include a Ruger .17 HMR Combo (two guns), Ruger .17 HMR Combo (two guns) of a Ruger Precision Rifle and a Ruger Single Six Revolver ($20 each, three for $50); Savage 10/110 6.5 Creedmoor Rifle. ($20 each, three for $50); Taurus Judge .410/.45 ($10 each, three for $25). There will also be card tear games for the following guns: (must be present to play/win) Remington 870 Express 12-ga. (Lenard Dickinson Memorial) and a Weatherby Vanguard Heavy .223 (Jim Pohl Memorial).

The night will also include drawings for underage ticket holders, including a Youth Lifetime Hunting License.

New this year is a Kids-Only Auction. Kids will have the opportunity to bid on a Savage B17 .17 HMR Bolt-Action Rimfire Rifle, donated by Nexgen Outfitters.

Sponsor tables are available. Sponsor tables include eight dinner tickets, eight Bottomless Beer Mugs, and a choice of one of the following: Henry Golden Boy Lever-Action .22 rifle, Ruger 10/22 Carbine (with scope and case included), S&W M&P Shield 9mm, $300 Cabela's Gift Card, eight Annual Memberships, six Family Memberships or a shooting outing for up to 20 people (including targets and ammo).

SSP Board Members are Brad Zalesky, Ray Witt, Jeff Ellwanger, Bernie Fehringer, Carla Lutz, Mike Schneider, Janet Lienemannt, Dave Phelps, David Orten, Jason Juracek, and Kevin Namuth.
