Sidney 6, Standley Lake Gators 5
Sidney’s Post 17 Seniors came back to score two runs in the sixth inning to take a 6-to-5 victory over the visiting Standley Lake Gators on Friday. Dante Peterson pitched 5 innings giving up two earned runs while striking out three. Nathan Hofrock had two RBI’s to lead the Sidney offense.
Sidney 1, Fort Morgan 11
The Senior squad traveled to Fort Morgan on Saturday and fell behind early and were only able to muster one run in the fifth inning as they lost by a lopsided 11-to-1 final score. Zach Holtz started for the Seniors, and gave up six earned runs on four hits in 2.2 innings of work. Dante Peterson had the sole RBI for Sidney in the loss.
Sidney 10, Riverdale 5
Sidney ended the weekend with a victory over Riverdale after coughing up a five-run lead in the third inning. With the game tied at five after three innings, the Seniors scored five more runs over the last four innings while shutting out Riverdale to earn the 10-to-5 win.
Tommy Ellwanger started and gave up one earned run on four hits in 2.2 innings. Micah Schneider relived Ellwanger and pitched 3.1 innings, giving up no runs and no hits while striking out seven. Sam Hashman had two RBI’s in the victory for Sidney.
