The Sidney Stingray Swim Team took 60 swimmers up north to compete in the Alliance Swim Meet on Saturday. It was the team’s fourth meet of the year, and the group had much success, setting 144 personal best times. 67 swimmers are now qualified for the League Championship Meet in Hemingford on July 13.
There were many outstanding performances by the Sidney Swimmers, including 11 year old Kayson Houser winning the Boys 11-12 100 and 50 Meter Freestyle, the Boys 11-12 50 Meter Butterfly, and the Boys 11-12 50 Meter Backstroke. Mathew Cabbage won the Boys 11-12 200 Meter IM, the Boys 11-12 Meter Breaststroke, the Boys 11-12 100 Meter IM, and the Boys 11-12 400 Meter Freestyle. Jayden Shoemaker won the Girls 13-14 50 Meter Butterfly, the Girls 13-14 50 Meter Backstroke, the Girls 13-14 50 Meter Breaststroke, and the Girls 13-14 100 Meter IM to lead the Stingrays.
