'Born To Rein' Honors Local Horse Racing Connections

John Andrew Nerud was born in Minatare on Feb. 9, 1913, but his name lives on in the records of horse racing.

The Fox Theatre in Sidney will be screening a documentary film addressing Nebraska's role in horse racing, specifically four men who were involved in making it what it is.

The movie “Born To Rein” features communities throughout Nebraska and John A. Nerud of Minatare, and the father and son team of Marion and Jack Van Berg of Columbus.
