The Cheyenne County School District No. 1 recognized the October Students of the Month in its Nov. 11 meeting. Reid Fiscus is the Seventh grade student of the Month. He was nominated for for his effort in class and example for other students. Ried is always responsible with assigned work and he always asks questions to increas his understanding. He strives to do his best and he is a pleasure to have in class. He is the son of Jeff and Ellen Fiscus. Landon Hanes is the 8th grade Student of the Month because of his outstanding behavior and responsibility shown at Sidney Middle School. Landon always works hard to produce quality work, as well as encourage others to do their best. He has an admirable attitude, is a hardworking student in the classroom, and taled athlete in competition. Landon participates in football, wrestling, and baseball. He belongs to the Sidney Middle School Spirit Club and is a lifelong resident of Sidney. He is the son of Jay and Katie Hanes. Abby Steffens is the 9th grade Student of the Month. Abby is a fantastic worker and model student. She shows maturity beyond that of a normal freshman. She loves participating in as many activities as she is allowed to. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking/baking, playing with animlas, collecting records and haning out with friends. Her future plans include going to college and getting a degree in journalism. Before then, she plans to continue joining many activities and striving to be hr best. Abby is part of JTOH (Journey Thru our Heritage), Student Council, Class President, Band, SRTV, Teen Outreach Program, Tutoring, and Golf. She is the daughter of Victoria Williams and Ken Steffens. Hannah Haas is the 10th grade Student of the Month. She is a top student in the intro to design class and is always eager to help others learn. Her attitude is always positive and she is a joy to have in class. She is a member of the volleyball team. Volleyball is her dream and a hobby of hers is designing rooms and messing around with elements in interior design which she would like to study in college. She is the daughter of Kelli Chaon and Brandon Chaon. Olivia Schneider is the 11th grade Student of the Month. She has been a leader in the classroom and also in the gym for health and fitness class. She leads most of the engagement in personal finance and contributes greatly to classroom discussions. She shows up every day to health and fitness ready to work and helps push the other girls. She has a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. She is a member of a youth church group, cheerleading, science club, and National Honor Society. She is currently an inter at the Chamber of Commerce and she plans on attending college and majoring in Marketing. She is the daughter of Ken and Kate Schneider. Jenna Keane is the 12th grade Student of the Month. She is an excellent student and is very motiviated, passionate and kind at school. She leads by example for her peers. She is a member of the Danz team, Heartbreakers show choir and upproom youth group. Jenna plans on attending the Unversity of Nebraska Kearney to study travel and hospitality. She is the daughter of Pat and Sharrell Keane.
