Sarah Jenkins

Worship leader, Sarah Jenkins is welcomed and appointed to the Lodgepole and Chappell United Methodist Churches. Sunday, March 1st was when the congregation first heard from their new district appointed lay speaker. Sarah has said, "Yes Lord" in response to filling a four month period as pulpit supply for these two church families.

During the past 20 years Sarah has served in a variety of leadership roles. Her early years of public speaking began with 4-H speech and demonstration projects in Dawes County. Those experiences began her speaking opportunities and growth into presenting leadership talks at many Walk to Emmaus weekend's for adults, Chrysalis youth weekends, participating in laity leadership classes, and most recently serving 18 months on a Mutual Ministry Team in the Valentine area. She is excited and looking forward to serving these two communities in the upcoming months. Preparations for Holy Week services are already in the planning stages. Her hope is to open both churches for Palm Sunday, and host Maunday Thursdday in Chappell at 7:30 p.m. and Good Friday in Lodgepole also at 7:30 p.m. Stay tuned to regulations and facebook for updates.

Sarah has lived in Sidney for almost four years with her husband, Corey. Her jobs include care of her two mothers, serving families at Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Event Center and working at Sidney Feed and Supply, both in Sidney. She does enjoy volunteering with the High Plains Arts Council (HPAC) and community Blood Drive. Having a full schedule already, Sarah was asked, "Why take on another job?" Her reply was heartfelt when she answered, "God didn't tell me not to."  She does have a joy for hospitality, heart for small town communities and a passion to serve where God asks.
