Abbot Assumes New Title, Additional Duties

If you want to get something done, find a busy person.

That seems to be what earned Western Nebraska Community College Sidney Campus administrator Paula Abbot a new title. Abbot was appointed as WNCC's Executive Director of Partnerships and Inclusions. The title was made effective July 1.

With the new title, Abbot will be visiting Panhandle communities, reaching out to community organizations. With the new duties, she will be spending less time in Sidney as campus director.

WNCC President Dr. Carmen Simone said the goal of WNCC is to serve the people of the Panhandle.

"Paula's role is to help us coordinate," she said.

Simone said Abbott is really good at reading people and knowing where to spend her time most efficiently. Simone said she expects Abbott may take advantage of

With her new role, Abbott will report directly to Simone. Additionally, Sidney campus staff will network with their counterparts at the home campus in Scottsbluff.

"I am really excited to serve the whole Panhandle," Abbott said.

She will be responsible for the facilities in Sidney and Alliance, in addition to representing WNCC throughout the Panhandle. She will also continue to have her office in Sidney.
