Nelson Joins Herstead Monument

Tom Nelson recently became the local representative for Herstead Monument Company.

Herstead Monument Company of Scottsbluff “has always been in Cheyenne County,” according to sales and marketing manager Kelsey Kuxhausen. Nelson is the company representative who also lives in Cheyenne County.

“He's very capable and knowledgeable about stone sales,” she said.

She said when a need arises — a relative had just died or a passing is anticipated — the company meets the family where they are.

“We, our representatives, usually get in contact with that person,” Kuxhausen said.

She said the representative brings a catalog of designs and message options. The family and company representative work together to design a personalized stone that can include memories, messages of faith and passions. The catalog once was presented as a ring-binder sometimes inches thick. Now it is offered as a computer tablet with thousands of options.

Nelson said he is available to meet wherever is most convenient.

“I will be available to go to their home or their business,” he said. “I am very flexible.”

Delivery of a completed stone is usually within 60 to 90 days,” Nelson said.

Nelson has been involved in the Cheyenne County community for several years, active with the Lodgepole Lions Club and various community activities.

“I'm not just your local sales rep,” he said. “I'm involved in the community.”

Nelson can be reached at 505-290-0915.
