Pool team places second in championship

“Wild 9” out of The Rock in Sidney fell just short of advancing to the American Poolplayers Association (APA) 9-Ball World Pool Championships in Las Vegas when they lost in the finals of the Western Nebraska APA 9-Ball World Qualifier held at Eagles Club in North Platte. The team took home a cash prize for their second-place finish. “Wild 9” earned a spot in the North Platte event after winning the Fall Session Sidney 9-Ball title. Team members include (photo, l to r) Jay Makris, Russ Barker, Glenn Morrison, Jessic Wheelock, Pete Flores and Rick Strack. Thirty-two teams from all over western and central Nebraska qualified to play in the regional event in North Platte which had the top three teams earning a spot in the APA 9-Ball World Pool Championships to be held in Las Vegas.
