Peetz Opens Season With Win Over Weldon Valley

Peetz’s Bulldog Football team finally started their COVID-19-delayed season with a road win against rival Weldon Valley Friday by a final score of 26-to-12. The Bulldog’s senior quarterback Aiden Curtis threw two touchdown passes and freshman quarterback Chance Segelke added another, all caught by senior wide receiver Nolan Hill.

Peetz recovered from Weldon Valley’s touchdown score on the first play of the game. Peetz fired back with 14 points of their own, and after Weldon Valley scored another touchdown to narrow the Bulldog lead to 14-to-12.

After converting on two fourth downs, Peetz scored again to go into the half up 20-to-12, and went on to win the game by a final of 26-to-12. Hill caught 5 passes for 65 yards scoring three touchdowns while junior running back Mike Kissell added a rushing touchdown in the victory. Freshman Aiden Hill had two interceptions while the Bulldog’s defense forced three fumbles on the day.

Peetz next faces Flagler on Saturday afternoon in Peetz, with the 1:30 p.m. kickoff capping Homecoming Week and the For Peetz Sake Days events.
