Kenneth W. Miller

Kenneth W. Miller, 89, passed away January 4, 2021 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff Nebraska.

Funeral Services were held 10:30 AM Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the Weyerts Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Bud Gillespie officiating.  Masks are recommended.  Burial was in the Weyerts Cemetery. Visitation was held at Weyerts Immanuel Lutheran Church on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 4 PM till 6 PM with family present.

Kenneth was born on July 17, 1931 to Herman J. and Gesina (Sharrel) Miller in Sidney Nebraska. He graduated from Sidney High School in 1949 where he participated in Vocational Ag and Future Farmers of America. Kenny also played basketball and served as class treasurer.

Kenneth was married to Frances Faye Irwin on March 22, 1953 at the United Methodist Church in Lodgepole Nebraska.

Kenny started farming after high school and was still living on the farm homesteaded in 1888. He also worked for the ASCS Office measuring fields, he drove the school bus and was in charge of maintenance of the school buses in Dalton. Kenny served on the School Board for Dalton Public Schools.

Kenny was active playing townteam basketball, dartball, bowling, pitch and attending his son’s and grandchildren’s activities. Kenny also enjoyed attending auctions.

Kenneth is survived by his sons Steven (Tammy) Miller of Sidney, Darrell (Beth) Miller of Milford, and Randy (Tracy) Miller of Sidney, and daughter in-law Sara Miller of Lincoln. Grandchildren Jessica Jones, Jenna (Nick) Hall, Jennifer (Sev) Vasquez, Blake Miller, Kelsey (Rob) Salistean, Matt (Lucinda) Miller, Ali (Trevor) Headley, Tyler (Kali) Miller. Great-grandchildren Davian, Maleah and Nia Jones, Koby and KeeLee Hall, Izzy, Addy and Emmy Vasquez, Ayla, Bram and Hannah Salistean. Sister in-law Shirley (Bob) Walgren of Columbus, NE and Brother in-law Floyd (Lorraine) Irwin of Tofield, Alberta.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife Frances, son Dennis, parents Herman J. and Gesina Miller. Brothers and Sisters in-law Floyd (Frances) Miller, Bob (Martha) Miller, Laverne Miller, Clarence (Margene) Miller, Donny (Vernie) Miller. Sisters and Brothers in-law Sue (Stan) Nelson, Jean (Dean) Hiner.

Memorials have been established to the Weyerts Immanuel Lutheran Church or donor’s choice.
