Platte Valley Bank Supports Friends of the Sidney Public Lbrary

The Friends of the Sidney Public Library received a $750 gift towards their new project from their hometown neighbor, Platte Valley Bank.

The Friends of the Sidney Public Library are working alongside Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to get books into the hands of Cheyenne County children. The group is hoping to deliver free books to children ages five and under. Once a child is enrolled in the program, books arrive monthly in the mail to each child until they reach the age of 5.

“Children who have developed strong reading skills perform better in school and have a healthier self-image,” commented Ted Sintler, Commercial & Agricultural lender at Platte Valley Bank in Sidney. “We are excited that this program promotes literacy and is not prohibited by household income. Platte Valley Bank is proud to support the friends of the Sidney Public library in their mission. “

“Reading is the foundation of education. By getting children interested at a young age, we are building the future leaders in our community,” added Sintler.
