Several area teams competed at the Mitchell Invitational Golf Tournament on Tuesday April 13 and faced tough competition from the area’s best golfers.
The Mitchell team took top honors with a score of 355, followed by Alliance with 361 and Chadron with 375. The Sidney team placed sixth with a 401 while Creek Valley placed 11th with a 439 and Potter-Dix trailed the field with a 14th place showing and a 541 score.
Sidney sophomore Jaeden Dillehay had the best round of the area golfers, shooting a 97 which tied him for 19th place in the individual standings. He was followed on the Sidney team by Jak Lilley with a 99, Wyatt Heckenlively with a 101, Rhett Dykstra with a 104 and Cole Hanley with a 114.
Creek Valley’s golfers were led by junior Eli Schmid with a 102, Nolan Ortgies with a 106, Ethan Togstad with a 109, Seth Wilber with a 122 and Diego Caraveo with a 139.
Potter-Dix’s golfers were led by Shawn Waggoner and Trevor Williams who both shot a 125, followed by Tobi Thompson with a 134, Bryce Winter with a 157 and Josh Kasten with a 191.
